Ring-style door knocker with backplate

Central Europe, 18th–19th century

Malleable iron. Curved square bar with incised spiralled terminals. Ring knobs on each side. Wrought sheet backplate in the form of stylised acanthus leaves with embossed bulbs. Ring mount in the form of a flower bud. Decorated with grooving.
